We feel like having guests stay at your home is a love hate relationship, but being able to show off a curated guest bathroom always helps! This dream like bathroom was designed with in-laws in mind, giving them plenty of counter space to spread out and having an Aging in Place shower.
What is an Aging in Place shower you ask? This is a term that is not talked about enough but it super important to think about early in the design process. Aging in Place is a term is defined by having the ability to live in one's own home safety, comfortably and independently regardless of age or physical ability. Basically it's designing with life in mind, you could have an elderly family member stay that needs wheelchair access or you could break your leg and need wheelchair access. We like to talk about features that incorporate this into the design early because it saves everyone time and money. Like having blocking in the wall for grab bars.
With having that in mind, we planned a large shower with decorative grab bars and a bench spanning the length of the shower for easy use. The entire room is tiled in a gorgeous faux marble for easy cleaning and the stunning patterned floor has our favorite heated floor element underneath it for a little added comfort. Lastly, is the jewelry of any space, the delicate sconces flanking this glamorous mirror. All this chrome and nickel really elevates this bathroom to really make it ready to be shown off to any guests you may have.
