Island Amore, translated to Island love, is a stunning kitchen remodel in Nashville that perfectly blends modern elegance with timeless charm. Even large kitchens can feel closed off and isolated from the rest of the home, just like where this kitchen started. We decided to open up the wall from the kitchen to living room to really connect the two entertaining spaces. We also got rid of the peek-a-boo windows in the kitchen and added in a bank of four windows to bring in as much natural light as possible.
Achieving just those two features, openness and natural light made such a huge difference, but we weren't finished yet. We completely gutted this kitchen and replaced the cabinetry to better function for how our client's family will utilize it. Selecting accessories to better organize utensils, spices, oils, Tupperware and so much more.
The first thing that catches your eye as you walk in is the expansive blue island. Keeping a classic, almost European feel, we had all the cabinets be a beaded inset with an added detail of a backplate to the hardware pulls and missionary legs on the island. To add some glamour, we chose antique mirror cabinet doors to flank the Viking range, along with a marble geometric mosaic to be featured above the range.
This kitchen's greatest asset is it's entertaining ability, to have their guests sit with them as they cook, to have a hidden wine cabinet and a showstopping design.
