About this project

This project is located in the heart of Nashville, west of downtown. The family had an outdated Kitchen that was dark and heavy. They wanted a new plan that would flow and work with their family’s lifestyle. We were hired to update the Kitchen, Living Room, and paint selections throughout the home.
These home owners wanted something that wasn’t so chopped up and that was more useful for the way they lived. We did away with the desk area as it was just a catch all and didn’t work for the family. We chose to anchor a new 48″ range oven between the two windows and paired it with a plaster hood above. We accented the range wall with countertop to ceiling tile and placed large sconces over the windows. Placing the paneled fridge at one end, we were able to create a large prep zone in the middle. For the drink station to the right, we kept the sink placement, but added a hideaway cabinet so when they are having company, they can close off those pocket doors.
The design direction for this project is Modern Grace.
Modern Grace style is sophisticated yet simplistic, to allow for life, using contrasting colors as the detail in the space. Geared towards Nashville’s fast-paced lifestyle, this concept is perfect those living just outside our beautiful city. Filled with subtle impact and linear designs, Modern Grace creates an understated elegance with rich moods.
For the Design we chose high contrast elements such as the soft off-white cabinetry. It has a whisper of gray and compliments the countertops which are a white quartz. We added a white textured tile to the walls and a porcelain picket tile on the floor that has an interested marble inspired veining.
