This style for this design is all about rustic sophistication, using natural materials to layer texture and character. Welcome to our Yellowstone Living Room designed by Monarch Lane’s own, Alyssa Weardon.

It’s no secret Yellowstone has become a must see show, from its unnerving storylines, iconic cast members and action packed fight scenes.  Though that should be enough, it’s also got a stunning set location in the Montana wilderness. The Dutton House on the show was inspired by Montana ranch life, and with Alyssa’s background of growing up on her parent’s farm, she ran with that as her inspiration.

Reflecting the breathtaking and expansive landscape the Dutton’s House was set in, this great room has a tall ceiling to show off the snowcapped mountains in the distance while still grounding the eye with a rich rug to keep that cozy cabin feel.

While the setting of the Yellowstone house is very traditional. Alyssa took the approach of a generational feel, of having timeless elements like stone and leather, but adding in more transitional furnishings to update its appeal and point back to Monarch Lane’s Urban Eclectic design aesthetic.

Keeping the warmth and sunset feel of the ranch home, you can’t not have some good leather chairs to be able to sink into. Contrasting with the weathered feel of the leather chairs are the more clean lines of the white sofas, but it’s brought all together with the dynamic pillows.

The rich red clay colors in the rug brings come color in an otherwise neutral room. Layering texture comes into play with the patterned rug under a large square walnut coffee table with accessories that are useable and not just decorative, like a box to keep a tv remote in or books you often refer back to.
